Here’s a little bit about me
I’ve been a DIY’er my whole life! It began at an early age when my parents allowed me to paint my bedroom any way I wanted (who does that?) I chose to paint every single wall a different pattern; all in pink, white and gray, very cool and trendy for the time 🙂 . One wall was checkered, one was stripped, one was solid pink with handprints on it, and one was gray with my name in pink, cursive letters. I adored that room and I feel like that’s where my love of painting and design began to grow.
In 2000, I started my own business where I painted faux finishes, murals-basically anything the homeowner or builder wanted. I painted homes and businesses throughout the Kansas City metro area where I honed my decorative painting skills. Unfortunately, I closed that business in 2009 after the U.S. fell into a recession and, frankly, so did my body! It’s physically grueling to haul ladders around while also lugging gallons of paint up and down those ladders while fitting into tiny spaces to get that far corner behind those kitchen cabinets! Ugh, my back hurts just thinking about it!
That didn’t stop me from continuing my passion of DIY, home décor, cooking, gardening and entertaining though. Since I closed that business, I’ve yearned to do something in the creative field again which is why I started this blog. It gives me a creative outlet where I get to connect with amazing people in my hometown and throughout the world.
I’m honored that you’ve taken time to stop by and for your interest in hosting a class. I’m excited to get to know you and your friends while we create something beautiful together.
Until next time my friend,
